The All College Conference (ACC) takes place every ten years. Originally scheduled for 2024, the ACC will take place from 20–22 June 2025.
Preparations for ACC 2025 are well underway. To date, three meetings have been held with activists to discuss the broader context, the impact of neoliberalism, the Khanya Strategic Perspectives adopted in 2014, and the need for a working-class media.
In addition, five meetings were held with children (Poetry Buddies) from PUSH, Sakha Kids, Uzima, Rena Le Lona, and Imbumba, ensuring that they are meaningfully consulted and included in the process of evaluating Khanya’s work. A further four meetings were conducted with school youth from PUSH, Sakha Kids, Rena Le Lona, and Uzima.
Consultations also included coordinators from OVC centres (post-school youth), members of the Forum for Activist Journalists, and community health care workers, all of whom contribute important perspectives to the review process.
Over 80 activists have confirmed their participation in the upcoming conference, where Khanya College’s work over the past ten years will be evaluated and key tasks for the future will be determined.
The ACC 2025 will take place in two parts: the first in June, and the second in November. Since the last ACC in 2014, Khanya has conducted three evaluations, one internal and two external, all of which affirmed the organisation’s direction and political orientation as outlined in the 2014 conference.
