Khanya Study Group on

Imperialism and War

On 21 February 2026, Khanya College hosted a vibrant Study Group attended by 73 participants, including school youth, post-school youth, and representatives from various organisations.

The session focused on Imperialism. It began with a practical simulation that helped participants understand how imperialism operates in the real world, using the invasion and destabilisation of Venezuela as a case study. This interactive approach made the political concepts more accessible and understandable.

The Study Group then screened the documentary The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, which examines events surrounding the attempted coup in Venezuela.

Khanya’s Study Groups are open to reading cycles and individuals who would like to join.
