Coming of Age

The film is written by Teboho Ediks, it highlights the culture of the Basotho. In the film the structure that society is organised in Lesotho is presented. The society is structured in a way that women are teaching girls how to domestic chores, in the film the girl’s job is to do the house chores before going to school and after school. They stay at home most of the time playing games called (diketo) and the only time when they go out is to go to school and church. Men are teaching the boys how to milk sheep and herd them up to the mountains where they wait for the sheep to eat and come back with them. The boys were taught how to slaughter the sheep and what to do with the gall bladder based on their tradition.
