Gender Equality

Women and civil society must ensure that gender equality and women empowerment are placed in the agenda for policy development, legislation and programs at all levels. Women in judiciary and judges must aim to to protect women and promote gender equality, human rights and justice within the society because they do have the power compared to ordinary women. Gender stereotype and patriarchy undermines women. Women in leadership positions must lead by example and represent those whose voices are not heard. Gender diversity in leadership has historically been limited and men leading. We must work towards ensuring there is equality in workspaces where men and women earn according to their capacities and quality of work and not their gender.
